Processing Time
Determination of citizenship takes on average 3 – 6 months to process.
An application for resumption, where required, take on average 6 – 12 months to finalise.

A Determination of Citizenship is ultimately the process in which to verify whether one’s South African Citizenship has been revoked or not. Should one’s South African Citizenship indeed be revoked, one may make application in certain circumstances for the resumption thereof.
