An intra-company transfer is a type of work visa that allows a staff member to transfer from an international company to a South African regional office, subsidiary, or affiliated corporation.

CRITICAL SKILLS
WORK VISA

The South African Critical Skills Work Visa is the most sought-after visa aimed at skilled foreign national professionals.

The General Work Visa is least popular with an onerous application process, having to comply with requirements such a Department of Employment and Labor certificate, job offer, advertisement and more.

SHORT TERM
WORK VISA

A Short Term Work Visa, or the Section 11(2) visa is available to foreign nationals who need to work or attend business activities in South Africa for up to six months on an urgent short-term basis.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF AN INTRA-COMPANY TRANSFER WORK VISA?

The Intra-Company Transfer Work Visa has a four-year validity period.
Allows foreign employees of organisations to work in South Africa for up to four years at a time at the locally based entity.

Qualifications verification by SAQA and/or professional body registration is not required.
No need for a Department of Labour Certificate.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A CRITICAL SKILLS WORK VISA?

A Department of Labour Certificate is not required if your occupation is on the South African Critical Skills List.
You immediately qualify for permanent residency once you have been offered permanent employment in an occupation that appears on the Critical Skills List.
