An Investor Permit offers the investor an immediate pathway to obtaining Permanent Residency in a country and requires the immigrant to make a substantial investment. This investment must always be made from funds outside of the country you are emigrating to.
Unlike the Investor Permit above, a Financially Independent Permanent Residency Permit in South Africa is for individuals who would like to obtain Permanently Residence status in South Africa to set up their own business, work, study, retire or otherwise reside in South Africa. This permit gives you all the rights of a South African with the exception to vote. Importantly, this Permit also does not require you to reside in country from day one thus ideal as a Plan B.
