COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS PUTTING YOUR SOUTH AFRICAN VISA AT RISK

Foreign nationals with professional work visas that are due to expire, such as Intra Company Transfer Work Visas or Short-Term Visas, are usually required to travel back to their home country to apply for new visas to extend their stay. However, COVID-19 restrictions has brought about countless travel restrictions and bans for high-risk countries which are now being imposed by the South Africa government.

A Directive has been issued to Chinese nationals allowing short term extension of their status in South Africa, and it is anticipated that the Department of Home Affairs will follow suit with a Directive to include all affected countries to allow renewal in SA.
